Evaluation from the Ministry of Transport shows that, along with the strong development of the seaport system, over the past time, logistics services in Ba Ria - Vung Tau have had positive changes. Recently, more logistics projects have been put into operation, which have well performed basic functions such as warehousing,collection and distribution of goods for service in industrial zones and neighboring provinces.
In addition, to "take advantage" of the seaport system, the province plans and builds a system of industrial parks (IZs) associated with seaports. Up to now, BRVT has 15 industrial zones, with a total area of about 8,510 ha. Many investment projects are being implemented including: PPP factory and LPG underground storage of Hyosung Group with investment capital of 1.2 billion USD; Petrochemical complex in the South with an investment capital of 5.4 billion USD; Long Son Power Center with an investment capital of 4.5 billion USD…
Currently, BRVT has also put into operation 50 ports with a total wharf length of more than 17 km, with a capacity of 180 million tons/year. Particularly, Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster has 24 port projects put into operation with a total length of berths of nearly 11km with a total design capacity of 129 million tons/year, of which there are 8 container ports with a capacity of 8.3 million TEU/year. Gemalink Port has become the largest port in Cai Mep-Thi Vai deep-water port cluster, contributing to completing the logistics service supply chain of Gemadept Corporation.
